Exercising During Pregnancy

Many soon-to-be moms are intimidated by the thought of exercising during pregnancy, especially if it’s their first one. I’ve heard many of these questions: “Can I start exercising now even if I haven’t before?” “Can I exercise in all of the trimesters?” “Can exercise put me at risk for miscarriage?” “Are there specific exercises that I should or shouldn’t do during my pregnancy?”, etc. The consensus is that women can exercise safely during pregnancy but should follow some guidelines. First and foremost, it’s important to consult with your family doctor or healthcare provider. Baby Center’s Medical Advisory Board has come up with 13 rules of safe pregnancy exercise:
